Liberty is a triploid Hallertau variety that was bred by U.S.D.A. Of the four triploid Hallertau mf varieties released by U.S.D.A., Liberty most closely resembles the Hallertau mf cultivar. It is typically used in Lager, Pilsner, Bock, US Wheat, and Kölsch beers.
