A uniquely bred New Zealand hop, this varietal originated in the 1970s, but was not commercially released until about 1983. The unique oil balance and medium alpha acid content makes AlphAroma a dual purpose hop. Put these characteristics to good use by adding this hop to Pale Ales and Lagers to add a firm bitterness as well as a citrusy, fruity aroma. Known as RakauTM in New Zeeland.
